It begins, a broken family grieving the loss of their daughter:
SAN ANTONIO –
San Antonio Police Chief William McManus, who visited with the family following her death, was at the service Thursday afternoon.
“I described it earlier as just an evil, vile act, and, you know, I couldn’t describe on camera what I would like to say about it,” McManus said.
Despite the grim circumstances of her death, McManus noted the family is focusing on the love they have for their daughter.
“When I went to visit with the family, there was nothing but love — there was not hatred, there was no malice, there was just a broken family devastated by the loss of their daughter,” McManus said.
Longtime family neighbor Alice Worthington recounted Bump’s childhood.
“I remember when she broke her hip playing softball and a few days later, she was walking, and I couldn’t believe her strength,” Worthington said.
Worthington broke down recounting the last conversation she had with Bump the day after Christmas.
“I said, ‘Every time I see you, you’re more beautiful,’ and she said, ‘Oh Mrs. Alice, thank you.’ There was not a vain bone in her body,” Worthington said.
Horrific knife murder (note to gun control freaks), the victim, Lauren Bump, was slashed to death and found where she fell, on a jogging trail in Northwest San Antonio.
The trail leads to this person (I won’t call him a ‘man’), Christian Ivan Bautista, 29, a real nasty piece of crap who shouldn’t even be here in the US:
On New Year’s Eve, the body of 24-year-old Lauren Bump was discovered on a trail in O.P. Schnabel Park. She had been stabbed multiple times.
It was along this same trail where police apprehended Bautista, after a woman reported a suspicious man “pacing back and forth.”
Under questioning, Bautista admitted to being at the park on New Year’s Eve, but denied killing Bump.
However, Bautista’s roommate told investigators that on New Year’s Day, Bautista told him: “I stuck that (expletive). I cut her up real nice,” according to court documents.
Bautista has a long criminal record, with arrests in both California and Texas.
KENS 5 reported:
His criminal history in Bexar County includes eight different instances.
The 29-year-old was arrested for drug possession in 2006 and a few weeks later was charged with illegal entry, according to county records.
State records obtained by the I-Team revealed Bautista finished a five-year sentence for aggravated robbery in October and was released from state custody October 29, a little more than two months before Bump was murdered.
While Bautista was once charged with illegally entering this country and spent at least six months in federal custody, there is now a great deal of confusion over why he was never deported.
On Jan. 8, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials confirmed publicly that Bautista did have “legal” status in this country, but that his current immigration status was still “up in the air.”
All attempts by this reporter to reach ICE for further clarification have failed. [Naturally, they work for Obama]
Other sources in ICE have said “ICE has no immigration enforcement jurisdiction with this individual.”
Really? Why is that? The left claims Obama’s administration is deporting illegals faster than Bush ever thought of doing it, and they say in that linked article that “Republicans don’t think that’s enough.”
Sure are a lot of murdering thugs slipping through the cracks.
