“Murmuration” is…what?? It’s pretty cool actually, and birds do it by the thousands

Never heard of “murmuration” until today when a friend sent me an email with video of what must be thousands of birds zooming around;

Two women in a canoe on the River Shannon in Ireland witness a murmuration of starlings. The massive, swirling flock of birds breaks apart and comes together again.

By the way, I officially disavow and cracks about “drunken Irish birds” that may be made here.
