Economic Freedom, or something…else?

20110707-090810.jpgWe live in a country where the quality of life has been the envy of the world. How many people worldwide try to sneak in here every year?

We’ve seen over the last decade, as the size of government has grown, as government has taken more and more control over our lives, that’s beginning to change.

We have an EPA that seems to be wreaking havoc over businesses large and small with more regulations added almost daily; becoming nearly impossible for business owners today to keep up and stay legal.

A labor relations board telling companies where they can and cannot do business.

A President who, along with his political party, picks public sectors of the US economy and demonizes them; trying to turn the citizens of their own country against them.

How is it all working out, this “Grand Plan” the people we elect to represent us in DC seem to have settled on? Is it why we sent them to DC, or are they following another agenda?

As federal government asserts more and more control, are we more prosperous today, or less?

Are we freer today than we were 20 years ago, or less?

Is our quality of life better today than 20 years ago, or worse?

Where do we really want to be? Cuba or the United States?

Who do we want to be? A free people, able to invest our fortunes in our own lives and property, or a hapless proletariat standing in bread lines?
